Summer is coming to a close and it’s TRIBE time. The Indians clinched a playoff berth last weekend and Jason Kipnis ended last night’s game with a HUGE exclamation point… a GRAND SLAM walk off which also happened to be his 1,000th career hit.
I found this little piece of brilliance on Twitter this morning while going through my feed. As you know, the Indians are hosting the Wild Card game tonight a Progressive Field against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays in a one game playoff which will determine who goes on to face the Red Sox on Friday. Here’s hoping that we get to hear the “GONE!!!” part of this flow chart quite often tonight. Let’s Go Tribe!!!
I have absolutely no ownership over this picture… but I simply HAD to share it’s brilliance. Thanks to @zgebler for putting it on paper!!!
In case you haven’t noticed (and judging by the attendance you haven’t) the Indians are in the thick of the playoff race here in late September. Last night, Jason Giambi sent the Progressive Field crowd home happy when he hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 9th inning to beat the Chicago White Sox.
If you’re a baseball fan you already know this, but Cleveland is lucky to have two of the best voices in the business to call our games: Matt Underwood and Tom Hamilton. Hamilton has long been known as one of the best voices in baseball and his home run calls have become iconic. Underwood… especially last night… has been taking up the mantle of home run calls as well. Here’s both of them in all their glory.
I’m typically a Hamilton guy, but I think (at least for last night) I may have to give the nod to Underwood. Either way, it was an incredible win and it put the Tribe that much close to playoff baseball. Tonight the Indians close the regular season at Progressive Field. Get out and support them!
