No Kyrie Irving. No Kevin Love. Never fear… we’ve got the best basketball player on the planet and his Australian buddy Matthew Dellavedova. Last night in Oakland, the Cavaliers won a NBA Finals game for the first time in franchise history. With that victory, the series comes home to Cleveland tied 1-1.

Game 3 will be played at Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday June 9th at 9:00 PM.

Kyrie Irving has a fractured kneecap. He’ll undergo season-ending surgery in the next couple of days is projected to be out three to four months. In the meantime, the Cavs have a NBA Finals to contend with and in all likelihood Matthew Dellavedova will get the bulk of Irving’s minutes for the remainder of the series.
Kyrie posted this to Instagram:
I want to thank everyone for the well wishes. Saddened by the way I had to go out but it doesn’t take away from being apart of a special playoff run with my brothers. Truly means a lot for all the support and love. I Gave it everything I had and have no regrets. I love this game no matter what and I’ll be back soon. To my brothers: You already know what the deal is. And to Delly: “ICE it down del” *Big Perk voice *

I know I speak for all of Cleveland when I say “Get well soon Kyrie. You’ll be sorely missed.”
Game 2 of the NBA Finals is Sunday night (6/7/2015) when the Cavs are once again at Golden State (8:00 PM on ABC).

Ladies and gentlemen… your Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers!

That’s Cleveland Baby!!!
Last night, the Cavs won the Eastern Conferece Championship in convincing fashion when they swept the Hawks 4-0 with a 118-88 victory. Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert and GM David Griffin hoisted the Eastern Conference Championship trophy at the Q in front of a sold out croud.

The Cavs have off until June 4th when the NBA Finals will begin against either the Golden State Warriors or the Houston Rockets.

When I started That’s Cleveland Baby I had no intent of turing this into a sports-centric blog. That said, Cleveland revolves around its sports teams so when they’re in the news I feel compelled to cover it.
After the worst start in his career, LeBron James recorded a triple-double with 37 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists lifting the Cavs to a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals over the Atlanta Hawks.

The Cavaliers are back in action tonight at 8:30 at the Q. Let’s go Cavs!!!
That’s Cleveland Baby!!!
The Cavs took game 2 in the East Conference Finals last night without Kyrie Irving. The more banged up the Cavs are, the better they play. LeBron James was 1 rebound shy of a triple double and Tristan Thompson had seven points and 16 boards.

The Cavs are back home tomorrow for Game #3, 8:30 at The Q. Let’s Go Cavs!!!
That’s Cleveland Baby!!!
The Cavaliers took a 1-0 lead over the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals last night when midseason pickup J.R. Smith dumped in 28 points on a Cavs playoff record eight three-pointers! With injuries continuing to plague the Cavs we’re going to need continued contribution from the likes of Smith and Dellavedova.

The Cavs and Hawks go at it in Game #2 in Atlanta on Friday May 22nd @ 8:30 PM. Let’s Go Cavs!!!
That’s Cleveland Baby!!!
In the second half of last night’s Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Bulls Cleveland was treated to the Matthew Dellavedova show. The former Austrailian rugby player took control of a game that saw Kyrie Irving leave in the 2nd quarter. Dellavedova a team-high 19 points as the Cavs won the series 4-2.

The Cavaliers now await the winner of the Atlanta Hawks & Washington Wizards.
That’s Cleveland Baby!!!
LeBron James did it. With time expiring, he drained a shot from the corner to give the CAVS the win in game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Will that play become know as “The Shot” and finally overshadown Michael Jordan’s shot over Craig Ehlo? Time will tell.

Game 5 will be played tomorrow (May 12th) 7:00 PM at Quicken Loans arena. Time to go ALL IN!!!
That’s Cleveland Baby!!!
LeBron James returned home to Cleveland this week to an AMAZING fan fare. And while the Cavs lost their first game with James back on the team, things are looking up for the Cavaliers!
