Went to my office the other day for the first time in over 6 months. Tower City was a ghost town.
Hope you’re hanging in through this crazy 2020 Cleveland. Stay safe and healthy.

I ran across this amazing photo of the Cleveland skyline while scrolling through Facebook recently. The photo was taken by David Sands and it’s absolutely breathtaking.
Man do I love this town. That’s Cleveland Baby!
The Indians have an opportunity this evening to bring home and elusive World Series title… at home.
It’s us against the world. Let’s go Tribe!!!

Got this as an email forward and thought it was share worthy.
And God created the Midwest…
On the sixth day, God turned to Archangel Gabriel and said, “Today I am going to create an area of land called The Midwest. It will be a land of outstanding natural beauty. It shall have tall hills and rolling plains full of game and eagles, beautiful sparkling lakes bountiful with bass and streams full of trout, forests full of deer and turkeys, valleys with fertile soil with an abundance nutrients to grow things, and rivers teaming with fish.”
God continued, “I shall make the land rich in resources so as to make the inhabitants prosper, I shall call these inhabitants Midwesterners, and they shall be known as the most friendly people on the earth.”
“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “don’t you think you are being too generous to these Midwesterners??”
“Not really,” replied God.. “Just wait and see the winters I am going to give them!”

We’ve all seen the now iconic image of LeBron James on the wall as you enter downtown Cleveland. But before he was put back up, Cleveland-based Sherwin-Williams was prominently displayed there.
Do you have a Cleveland pic you’d like to share? Upload it here!

I’m not a huge fan of email forwards, but I got this one over the weekend and had to pass it along. I’m sure you’re familar with Jeff Foxworthy’s “You Might Be A Redneck If” schitick. Here’s a Cleveland version…
NOTE: I’m not QUITE sure if this can actually be attributed to Foxworthy. The email foward that I received had Slyman’s spelled “Sliman’s” which calls things into question. That said, it’s a pretty accurate list.

The 2015 edition of the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon took place on Sunday May 17th. This year’s Cleveland Marathon was won by Kenya’s Abraham Chelanga on the men’s side and Russia’s Tatiana Aryasova on the women’s side. The event also includes a 10K run and half marathon.

34 years ago today on May 15, 1981, Cleveland Indian Len Barker threw a perfect game at Cleveland Stadium. Baseball seating capacity that season was 76,685. Official paid attendance was 7,290. Yes somehow you can find about 400,000 Clevelanders that “were there”. Funny how that works isn’t it? 🙂
Regardless of the attendance, it’s an amazing accomplishment. Congrats Len!

Ran across this beautiful picture of downtown Cleveland and simply had to share it. Not sure who snapped it, but the way it shows Progressive Field, Quicken Loans Arena and the rest of the skyline lit up is awesome.
If this is your photo or you know who took it please let me know so I can give proper credit!

I’ve had this one sitting in my drafts for quite some time now… I’m talking years. And while I’m WAY overdue posting it (even for this season) it’s a shot that I absolutely love. Even though we’re not off to a tremendous start, baseball’s back in Cleveland!
That’s Cleveland Baby!!!
It’s been a brutal winter in Cleveland. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for Spring and everything that comes along with it… BASEBALL!!!

The fog rolls into Downtown Cleveland.
Not sure who to give credit to for this beauty… I originally saw it when Twitter user @rustbeltrants tweeted it. If you snapped it please let me know so I can give proper credit.

This post has nothing to do with the weather. If you look at your current NFL standings this morning, your very own Cleveland Browns stand alone atop the AFC North. And it feels TREMENDOUS!
I’ve seen this several times today, but the first time I saw it, it was posted by Brad F on Facebook. Thank you sir!
That’s Cleveland Baby!!!
I can’t for the life of me remember where I found this photo so I can’t give credit for it, but I wanted to share it because it’s simply beautiful. It captures Cleveland in the fall / winter (notice the trees with no leaves in the foreground) at that perfect time of dusk.
If you know who’s photo this is (or it’s yours) please let me know so I can give proper credit!

Ran across this beautiful photo a while back and it’s been sitting on my desktop. I can’t remember where I found it so I can’t give proper credit, but certainly will if I’m able to run across its origin.

In case you were living under a rock and missed it, recently 3 girls who had been missing for over a decade were found alive and well in Cleveland. Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight were rescued from their decade long captivity in part by the gentlemen pictured here: Charles Ramsey.
I won’t bother recapping the entire story here, Ramsey’s role in the rescue, other parties involved or parody videos. There are far better sources out there if you’re looking for that. What I will say is that Charles Ramsey has become the face that is everything GOOD in the world. That’s what I’m going to hold onto in this case. In a world where there are people sick enough to hold others captive for a decade, there are also those like Charles Ramsey.

A few years ago, when you drove into downtown and would be greeted with a Cleveland icon… LeBron James. Back in those days LeBron’s banner with his arms outstretched had simply one word on it… “Witness“. These days as you make your way downtown you’re still greeted with an icon but it’s no longer Mr. James. These days the icon is Cleveland herself.
The “Witness” banner has been replaced with one sponsored by home town Sherwin-Williams that has a picture of Cleveland with seven words: “Our Home Since 1866. Our Pride Forever”

One of the things that I love about Cleveland is that we KNOW we’re Cleveland. Let me explain. In many cities around the country, if there isn’t a recognizable landmark you’d never know what city you were in. However, in Cleveland, we remind you OFTEN just where you are. Take this sign from the downtown area… we shout out it out loud… WELCOME TO OUR TOWN!
And I have to tell you… it’s a very comforting feeling to be welcomed every time I enter the city. It is a nice reminder that I’m home.
